Three different approaches
- Timeless: a needle and argon system for accessing still wine through suitable closures. Screwcap bottles require the specified accessory.
- Pivot+: remove the original closure and fit a Pivot stopper, then use the argon system for still wine.
- Sparkling: a separate stopper and CO₂ system for sparkling wine. It is not a Timeless accessory.

What evidence supports this guide?
This UK guide is based on current manufacturer specifications and prices. Jeremy’s existing Vinabox coverage includes personal use of a Six+ bought in France in July 2025. That experience does not establish the performance of every model, a controlled preservation result or the contents of today’s UK box.
Coravin’s UK pages advertise different preservation periods for each family, including up to four weeks for Pivot+ and at least four weeks for Sparkling. These remain manufacturer claims. The wine, closure, technique and storage affect the result, and no duration should encourage someone to drink more.
Before buying anything
- Identify whether the wine is still or sparkling and the exact closure.
- Check the manufacturer’s compatibility and safety instructions for the exact system.
- Include the required capsules, stoppers and replacement parts in the budget.
- Consider whether a simple closure and refrigeration already meet your needs.
